Visitors sign in and out at the dispatch-window visitor roster with ID verification. Bags, purses, and personal items must remain in vehicles. Visitors are searched with a hand-held wand, and refusal can result in denial. Children under 10 are not allowed unless special provision is made, and children under 16 must be with an adult. Former felony inmates released in the past three years, people under indictment, and people awaiting trial on bond from the jail are not permitted to visit.

The current jail at 296 School Street is distinct from the historic old Coosa County Jail in Rockford. That history is useful local context, but it should not be confused with the active Coosa County Jail and Law Enforcement Center where current inmates are booked, visited, and searched through the public roster.
